Community engagement update

In April-May 2026, we sought feedback from the community on two options – upgrading the track where it is, or expanding it – what features an upgraded track could have.

Overall, there was strong and consistent support for upgrading the existing pump track, with a clear majority of participants favouring expansion beyond the current footprint.

Participants consistently identified a need for core supporting amenities, particularly drinking fountains, seating and shaded areas, bike repair stations, and additional planting and landscaping.

There was also some concern about overdevelopment, with participants emphasising the importance of preserving green open space and limiting excessive hard infrastructure.

Council will present the draft Concept Plan for feedback in the second half of 2026.
