Consultation has concluded
Council ran an extensive consultation on this park upgrade that included online surveying, two onsite consultations, promotion of consultations to a range of early years centres and the opportunity for individuals to email us directly.
Forty-five people attended the onsite consultations, the online survey received 260 visits and 101 responses and the open space team received 25 direct emails.
Based on what you told us the new plan has been finalised and the main changes are:
one of the tennis/multi-use courts will be turned into a full, dedicated basketball court with an additional ring and line marking
we will provide additional shade trees and seating to the expanded playground space
a low barrier and planting will help separate the skate space from the playground area
a small children’s scooter/trike track added to the north of the playground will provide more early years options
and...we know, we know you love the hammock! So lets keep it!
The attached plan will be circulated to those who participated in the consultation process.
We will start the work in the second half of this year. Thanks so much for your input everyone, we really appreciate it.
