Consultation has concluded

Thank you to all those who submitted feedback on the draft plan for upgrade works at Martin Reserve.

The proposed amenity improvements to Martin Reserve were well supported. We also received suggestions for other improvements to the park including installing irrigated lawn to improve the grass condition. While this is outside the current budget available, the feedback will be considered in future upgrades to the Reserve.

Please take the time to view the final design on the right of the screen.

Design Modifications

The concept plan has been adjusted to take account of the comments made during the consultation phase:

  • The shelter has been relocated away from the main entrance - to assist with dog behaviour issues and proximity to existing bins
  • The drinking fountain will be upgraded to include 3 dog drinking bowls that can be emptied and replenished
  • The new shelter site will include integrated seating within a concrete paved area. The existing seat will be relocated to the southern area of the park
  • Additional tree planting with tree guard protection will be located within the Blandford Street entry space

Next Steps

The project will now proceed to the detailed design and procurement stages. Construction is anticipated to begin in May 2017.
