Consultation has concluded

At its Ordinary Meeting on 14 December 2016 Council endorsed the Quarry Park Master Plan.

You can view the Masterplan in detail in the document library on the right.

Feedback received during the consultation period was largely positive and suggestions have resulted in some changes to the master plan including:

  • The mountain bike track and skills park have been developed to have a stronger presence in the park, utilising the steep landform along the northern part of the site and some of the open area in Henry Turner North Reserve.

  • A future public toilet is planned to be incorporated into the Henry Turner North Pavilion.
  • The path along the south edge of the site and connecting to Kinnear Street has been strengthened.
  • Following a submission from the Australian Korean War Veterans and the Korean War Memorial Committee an interpretive Korean War memorial is proposed in the park to reflect and interpret the connection to the nationally significant munitions manufacturing history of Maribyrnong and the adjacent Edgewater estate

Landfill capping works are planned to commence at Quarry Park in 2017.

Following completion of the earthworks, the delivery of the Master Plan will be staged over a number of years.
