West Footscray/ MaidstoneTraffic Management Plan update

Thank you to all those who contributed feedback to the consultation on traffic management and road safety in the West Footscray and Maidstone areas.

The Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) study included

  • a review of existing traffic and parking conditions
  • an analysis of new data recorded through traffic surveys
  • analysis of over 600 responses community views expressed through a questionnaire survey in (October 2017)

This data informed the preparation of the draft traffic management plan, which was presented to the local community with opportunities to provide feedback through drop-in sessions attracting around 50 attendees and an online mapping survey which received more than 1400 responses, (December 2017).

Council is now finalising the Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) study for this area. You can view the study area and the proposed measures to improve conditions in the photo gallery and document library on the right.

The next steps involve the final report being presented to Council for endorsement in April and funding will be sought for the identified treatments in Council's capital works program.
