Consultation has concluded

The City of Maribyrnong is developing the Maribyrnong People and Participation Strategy (MPPS) 2021 and beyond.

The MPPS is the next stage of Council’s Volunteer Strategy. To help create the MPPS that is responsive to community needs we want to hear from you, our community, about your experiences of participating and contributing to community life. This participation could be through formal volunteering, or taking up an issue as a community leader, or helping out in your neighbourhood.

Volunteering formal and informal, helping out and lending a hand builds the fabric of community life and we’re interested in all your experiences. In this phase of developing the Strategy we want to hear about your experiences and gather your insights to help us design a civic infrastructure that sustains diverse participation in volunteer opportunities.

We want to hear about your experiences and perspectives on contributing and participating through volunteering and leadership to inform the draft Maribyrnong People and Participation Strategy (MPPS) 2021 and beyond that reflects and responds to our community's diversity and experience.

The MPPS will provide Council with a strategic approach towards:

  • formal and informal volunteering opportunities
  • community leadership; and
  • civic participation
