Kingsville / West Footscray Traffic Management Plan
Consultation has concluded
Consultation for this stage of the project has now closed. Thank you to all who participated. Staff are now designing the final plan which will be presented to Council in early 2019.
Earlier this year Maribyrnong City Council spoke with the community of Kingsville / West Footscray (South) to identify ways to improve traffic management and road safety within the area.
The issues and opportunities identified have been used to develop a Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Plan which is now available for your comment by clicking here.
Council invites you to consider the changes proposed and let us know if you think they will improve safety, access, amenity, deter through traffic and encourage walking and cycling. You can see what improvements are proposed in what spot on the 'Road Treatment Map' located in the Document Library on the right.
Study Area
The study area is bounded by Sunshine Road, Williamstown Road, Somerville Road, Paramount Road and Sredna Street, as shown in the photo gallery on the right.
What is an LATM Study?
A LATM study is a process to identify existing traffic and road safety issues and develop recommendations to improve safety, access and amenity, deter through traffic, and encourage walking and cycling.
The LATM Process
Initial community consultation and data collection to identify issues - completed September 2018
Data analysis and development of LATM - completed October 2018
Community consultation on draft LATM - November 2018
Development of final LATM - December 2018
Final LATM presented to Council for consideration - February 2019
Community Participation
Community participation is key to identifying and responding to current traffic conditions and issues in the local area. Council looks forward to working with the community in each stage to improve traffic management and road safety in Kingsville / West Footscray (South).
Downloading the survey (see the Document Library on the right)
