Hello Lamp Post - a new communication tool

We recently added another communication tool to support the review of the Community Vision, Asset and Financial plans, and development of a new Council Plan. These strategic documents guide the future direction of Council and services provided.

Hello Lamp Post provides live interactions from your phone. It's simple to use - just scan the QR code on the yellow signs around the City, which will activate the chat.

There is no app to download, no account fees or registration required. You can be part of the conversation when it suits you. You can also engage in Vietnamese, Hindi, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Telugu and Arabic.

Hello Lamp Post is another way for us to share information with you and collect feedback.

Maribyrnong is one of the first councils in Australia to use Hello Lamp Post, which complements existing in-person and digital engagement on Your City Your Voice.

Yellow posters are located around the City and supported the first conversation to understand how you would like to be involved in this project.

You can read more in our engagement summary.

What's next?

We will shortly update the tool with a new set of questions asking for feedback on the Community Vision and the Council Plan. We will continue to update questions regularly so everyone has an opportunity to engage and provide feedback for all the plans.

We will share feedback gathered through the tool on this page, and provide more opportunities for you to comment.

We have also started a broader community conversation to seek views on the current Community Vision and the key objectives you want to see Council deliver on over the next four years. To share your feedback and be part of the conversation, click the navigation button at the top of this page.
